The property is designed for easy wheelchair access with a small ramp at the outside door, the corridor is wide, the doors are wide and all the wall sockets/plugs are at waist height.
Oil fire heating/radiators in all rooms.
Electricity, towels and bedding supplied.
An extra fold down double bed and cot can be supplied on request.
Oakdene enjoys splendid views over Kirkwall, the harbour, Shapinsay and out towards the Hope.
The property is on a direct bus route to Kirkwall and there is a public walkway to Kirkwall, approx. 1.5 miles away.
A welcome pack will be supplied on arrival.
Entry from 4pm onwards, exit 10am on morning of departure.
The kitchen is fully fitted with fridge/freezer, washing machine with combined dryer, and a small dish washer.
Downstairs has sitting room, kitchen, separate dining room, level access wet room and two double bedrooms.
The shower is level access with ample room to manoeuvre with a wheelchair. Both the downstairs bedrooms have walk-in hanging space/shelf space.
One bedroom has a small drawer unit with a mirror and the other bedroom has wardrobe with full length mirror plus small drawer unit.
Both bedrooms have bedside cabinets, bedside lights etc.
The sitting room is spacious and well furnished with TV.
Upstairs there is one large double room and one smaller twin room.
Both rooms have a wardrobe, mirrors, drawer space as well as bedside cabinets, lights etc.
There is an upstairs landing/lounge with a two seater sofa plus two chairs,coffee table and TV. This is an excellent place for children to sit and play their computer games etc or a reading area, or possibly a separate lounge for a 2nd family.
There is a small toilet upstairs with a hand basin.
